Inside Out (2011)

Sometimes you go into things thinking that there’s absolutely no way that it won’t suck.  Like going into prison.  Or watching this movie.  And then, you’re surprised!  No, not with all the prison sex you could ever want, no.  You’re surprised that a (practically) straight-to-DVD movie starring WWE’s own, Triple H, doesn’t suck… outright.  It’s not a great movie by any stretch of the imagination, but WWE Studios continues to surprise me.  I thought 12 Rounds was a perfectly acceptable action movie, That’s What I Am was surprisingly good and touching, and Inside Out didn’t suck.  WOW.

Michael Rapaport is ostensibly the name mainstream star of the movie, and he pretty much plays every Michael Rapaport fuck-up character ever.  So pretty much all of them.  Parker Posey is his long-suffering wife, because she has been with him for 13 years, or, ever since his buddy Triple H went to jail and Posey was Trips’ girlfriend at the time and this is just white trashery.  Anyways, Trips gets out of jail and Rapaport is still in the shady law breaking business thanks to his father, Bruce Dern.  I mean, really, does anyone care about the plot or story?  It’s a paint-by-the-numbers prison/crime/getting-out-but-you-can’t-get-out movie.

Nothing revolutionary, but a perfectly acceptable movie for the genre.
