Largo Winch (2008)

The wrestling fan in me sometimes works out to be a great annoyance.  For almost the entire running time of Largo Winch, the titular character kept reminding me of Sean O’Haire.  The actor, Tomer Sisley, doesn’t look exactly like O’Haire, but there was enough of a facial resemblance along with the hair to make it off-putting to me.

Apparently the movie is based off of a comic book series that I had no idea existed.  I’d always seen the case at work (oh by the way, Blockbuster Canada is finally dying off) and it sort of intrigued me but didn’t leap out at me as a must watch.  It’s a pretty good action movie though, with enough financial intrigue and spy-ish elements to make it a bit Bourne-esque.  While there is a lot of Winch’s back story told through the film, it doesn’t go into (or maybe just glosses over) the training or anything he seems to have endured to become the badass Bruce Wayne-type.

I recommend it, but just be aware that it’s about 50% French, so there’s a few sub-titles to read, and depending on the version you watch, they might be very difficult to read.
