May 2011 Movies

Just going to post my year to date, month by month movies I’ve watched and how I’d rank them for the month.

1. Blue Valentine – absolutely devastatingly romantic movie
2. I Love You Phillip Morris – Jim Carrey’s best film in years and years
3. I Am You – shocking movie based on a real Australian crime
4. The King’s Speech – good, but not Social Network or Inception great
5. The Illusionist (2010) – not the Edward Norton movie, but a gorgeous near silent animated movie
6. Jesus Camp – TERRIFYING
7. That’s What I Am – shockingly very good WWE Studios film
8. Enron: The Smartest Guys In the Room
9. North Country
10. The Green Hornet
11. Made of Honor
12. Justin Bieber: Never Say Never – not gonna lie, Bieber impressed me with his talents
13. Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden? – it doesn’t age well
14. Rabbit Hole – depressing, but good
15. Meskada: Quiet Kill – interesting filmmaking, but this is where the quality starts to dip
16. World Trade Center – might as well have been called Buried in the World Trade Center
17. Casino Jack
18. Jolene
19. Restrepo – this one might be really good, but you truly have to involve yourself in the movie
20. No Strings Attached – watch Love and Other Drugs instead
21. The Heartbreak Kid (2007) – it’s half a good movie
22. The Resident
23. Rumour Has It
24. Somewhere
25. Sydney White
26. The Roommate
27. Manolete: Blood & Passion
28. The Tracey Fragments – pretentious filmmaking at its worst
29. Kingdom of Heaven – soooo boring
30. The Dilemma (2011) – I don’t know what this movie was supposed to be, funny or dramatic, but it’s neither
31. Gulliver’s Travels (2010) – might be great for families, but for me it was a waste of time
